Dental Crowns

Do you have any teeth that are cracked or damaged? Do you need a filling that needs extra support? A dental crown may be the best option for you.

Dental crowns can help strengthen a tooth that has been weakened by decay or injury. They are also used to repair cracked or broken teeth. Crowns can often conceal teeth that are discolored or oddly shaped.

At QTL Dental, our main concern is to keep your smile healthy and glowing! After Dr. Quyen Lee examines your teeth, she will talk to you about your dental crown options. Some patients may need a root canal before a tooth can be prepared, but this is not always the case.

If needed, the dentist will build up a foundation to support your crown. An impression of your tooth will be made using a rubber molding material, and this is how your crown will be formed. You will then receive a temporary plastic crown you can wear until your return visit.

A week or two later, your permanent crown will be ready. You will return to our office to have the crown placed. After checking to see if the crown fits correctly in your mouth, it is permanently cemented to your tooth.

Crowns may be made of metal or porcelain. Our porcelain crowns are the most popular since they are made to closely match your natural teeth. Your smile can be full and beautiful again with a new dental crown!

Just like with natural teeth, your dental crown will last longer if you take good care of your teeth. Remember to brush twice a day and floss once a day.
